There will be 6 classes, and 6 prizes for the best shooter in each class. As always, we will conclude with a random combination of Clay Shooting.
Shooters will be divided into groups of 20 or less with NRA RSO’s and CRSO’s for judging. During this event, your judge will be scored the day before and scores will be presented as a benchmark for all classes.
Prizes Include an assortment of firearm related material and gift cards. Prizes will be of similar value for all classes.
Additionally, Boxes of clays may be purchased after the event to shoot other clay courses, for a cost of $20. This includes the Thrower, 90 Clays, and personnel to help you set up. Additional Standby throwers may be available upon request to allow for more shooting courses, at the Landowners discretion. We have plenty of Clays, Shoot all Day!
This event will take place on September 16th, with registration from 0830-0930. That will be followed by a Judges Brief from 0930-1000.
Shooters will begin to take positions at 1000 and the competition will run until completion. We expect groups to cycle quickly.
Scoring will be calculated by a scoring sheet, with challenges being scored by the RSO or CRSO scorekeeper on the course. All NRA Personnel will be on the firing line to facilitate expedient turnover of shooting groups.
Please bring the Rifles you wish to compete with, and 50 rounds minimum. Also, for shotguns, Bring your choice of LEAD Clay Shot (shot size no larger than 7.5) and your favorite shotgun.
The .22lr classes will be : Youth (No Magnification), Youth ( Any Power Magnification), Adult No Magnification, Adult 9X Power Maximum, Adult 16X Power Maximum, and Adult Unlimited. If you sign up for a youth class, you will only be allowed to compete in that age group, and vice versa.
Classes will shoot mixed and you will be scored against others in your entry class. You may submit an additional $10 and compete in another class during the next volley of shooters for one additional score (two rifles total).
Each rifle will require 20 shots for competition, and all shots must be fired. Engagement Ranges will be at 50, 100, 150, and 200 yards. Scoring will be based upon an 8” target with 7, 8, 9, and 10 rings. Bullseyes will be an “11” score. Shooters will remain on station between each range, reload, and engage the next range of targets upon the go from the Safety Officers. Each group of shooters will be allotted 24 minutes total to engage these targets; 6 minutes to load and make ready, fire, and any cleaning and cooling that may be needed between rounds (6 minutes at 50 yards, 6 minutes at 100, etc). There may be additional pauses between each round dependent on conditions, Scorekeeping duties, or other outside factors.
All shooters will fire until completion of the stage, show clear, and await RSO instructions to make ready during the next round. During their waiting period, cleaning may be conducted if needed. Ammunition at all ranges will be kept behind the shooter. Each shooter should bring ammo Boxes, Racks, cups, or other vessels to hold 4 sets of 5 rounds. After all 4 rounds, shooters will show clear, case their rifles, and proceed down range with the RSO team to check scores.
